The birth of a savior of the world.  Wow…what images that has in times like these.   Can you image how the Talaban would envision that?  Can you image how the radical shiites would envision that?   What about the Iranian government, or the North Korean government, or how about the radical militantants in the USA?

We all could envision what that would mean couldn’t we?  A savior of the world!  Wow…lots of images!  Would anyone image a savior who would come to save us from our own inner prisons of greed and selfishness?  Would anyone image a savior that would save us from our own “ego?”  I’m not sure that many of us would image a “savior of the world” who would save us from ourselves!

That is exactly what God sent us at a specific time in earthly history.  A savior who is Christ the Lord.  A savior who delivered us from our own delusional state that we were in “control” of our lives.  A savior who shook the illusion of what we think we know, what we think we see, and what we think we are.   A savior from fear.

The Angel of God told the shepherds, ” behold I bring you glad tidings of great joy, a Savior….”  A savior from your own inner prison of thoughts of dread, doubt, and fear.   This salvation leads to one amazing experience…Joy!

Joy is the result of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Joy is the state of mind that Jesus Christ delivered us to.  Romans 12:2 records that the Apostle Paul had discovered that he was and we can be “tranformed.”  We are “transformed by the renewing of our mind.”  Joy is  a mental place of acceptance that God is real and is in full control of it all.

So, MERRY CHRISTMAS!  You are free!.
